Julessmiles Posted February 8, 2013 #26 Share Posted February 8, 2013 My experience has found that if there are just 2 of you and you can go anytime then last minute offers a bargain. My next cruise is a family one so dictated around the school holidays and because of this I booked early to ensure the airport, dates, deck and cabin type that we wanted. I was happy with the price I was offered and I have kept an eye on the price over the months. Our cruise has never been cheaper at any point with its nearest cost £400 more than we paid. Having checked in the last few days there are no cabins now available to accomodate the required number. So really glad I booked early. I think school holidays definately do keep the prices higher due to demand. I once booked Destiny within 5 weeks of travel, got the airport etc that we wanted and did pay half the price of most onboard however that was for 2 people and we could travel on whichever date suited. I agree, Whistler - we booked this summer's cruise on the launch date in April 2012 as we are a family of 4 travelling and tied to school holidays. It wasn't actually very long after that there were no 4 berth cabins left at all on the ship for the date we booked however we also like to book our holidays in advance to have something to look forward to and plan, to me that's a big part of the holiday!! whistlerbc Posted February 8, 2013 #27 Share Posted February 8, 2013 Julessmiles - Yes definately, having a holiday to look forward to and the excitement build up as the date creeps closer is a huge part of the whole holiday experience for us too. All getting quite hyper in this household.... only 6 weeks to go :D
