CaptData Posted June 8, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Start trying in Jan. Usually, about six months out, they have to get the contracts done first. Most of the locals may allow you to book about the same time frame. Most don't want it to early because people change their minds and it is alot of paper work. I am going to Hawaii in Jan and am now looking at excursions.
cntrydncr1 Posted June 8, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2005 Generally you can book online 3 months prior to sailing. Try booking independently....lots cheaper. There is lots of information on the "Ports" section of this site.

bplazo Posted June 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 11, 2005 I always prefer to book independent. On our last excursion we had no choice but to book with cruise line (ports were changed due to hurricanes) and on our snorkeling excursion we were packed on the boat. tomko2 Posted June 11, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2005 We were able to book 10 months in advance and glad we did because the morning tours go quickly. Booking with RCCL eliminated any worries about timing, e.g. getting back to the ship on time. For beach or shopping excursions we just made our own taxi arrangements. Have fun. LonW Posted June 27, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2005 I always prefer to book independent. I have always booked independent, and the cost is a lot less, usually half what the cruise lines wants.
