keytoyz Posted February 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2013 We arrive in Lisbon 4/10 to begin our Canary Island itinerary on the Crystal Serenity. I am sure we will not be able to get into our cabin until late in the day and after an overnight flight from the US I am sure we will be tired. That said I think we might like to venture off the ship in the late afternoon/early evening and explore a bit before we go on a full day tour with Top Ten tours in the AM. Any suggestions on the best way to spend the evening exploring would be appreciated. Ther are 4 of us traveling together who are all in good physical condition and like to walk. trav25 Posted February 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2013 Look at Rick Steve's book. One day when we were there, we went to the fado museum then later went to a fado and dinner show. We had a great time but...glad we took the hotel advice and took taxis at night. Safe during the day but night made us uncomfortable. We also loved the port wine institute. You take a funicular up. Eightydays Posted March 2, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 2, 2013 You don't sound as if you will have that much time. You can visit Castelo Sao Jorge (take Tram 28), the Seu (cathedral), and then simply stroll from the pedestrian only area by the waterfront (Placa Comercial) to Rossio square, stopping for pastries and shopping. Afterwards, if you have time, take Tram 15 E to Belem and visit the Belem Tower, the Monastery and Pasteis de Belem for delicious pasteis de nata.
