Why do they want our S.S number on Funpass?

I just registered on Carnivals site for the Funpass and its ask's for our Social Security Numbers, why do they need this information?..why didnt they ask for a passort number?.I've never been asked for a S.S on any other cruise.

I'm not sure why they want it (probably so they can send you some credit card offers :rolleyes: ) but it is an optional field, so just leave it blank.

They don't need it. Leave it blank. I never put my SS# on anything unless it's absolutely necessary.

Not sure why they ask but have been told that even if you don't put it in the Fun Pass will still allow you to continue. Once you put it in it can't be seen anyway - it has ***** in place of the numbers - so no one will be able to view it if they get into your Fun Pass.
