VERY Disappointed with Air Deviation offer

If the American Airlines-US Airways merger is approved, might that not change the contracts that Oceania has?
Eventually but most likely not by Nov 2013. The merger date is currently set for August 31, 2013, but that could change. Note that is when the financial transaction will take place. The two airlines will continue to operate as separate entities for quite a while.

US has to give *A 6 months notice to terminate and its date for inclusion into OW needs to be coordinated. Transition of US from *A to OW may well take longer and not happen until late 2014 or later in conjunction with the merger of the two airlines' operations and FF programs. The good news is, if you earn miles on US, eventually they will migrate over to AA. For those unaware, the combined airline will be AA. It will be interesting to say the least.
