Budget car rental Port Everglades

What is the best way to embark and disembark at Port Everglades with 5 people and a rental car from budget. Is it better for the driver to drop passengers and luggage off and come back with shuttle? Is the shuttle efficient or busy and slow? How far is Budget from the port? Will it be difficult for the driver to "catch up" with the rest of us if we are in line?

This is very close to Dock 2 and 4 for certain Princess Ships. But 10-15 minutes to the docks at the south end of Port Everglades (18-29)

Sometimes the backup getting through the gate can be time consuming. Depending upon how mobile everyone in your party is going to the rental first and loading everything on the shuttle may actually save you time. If you want to drop them at the port first, just plan the extra time. You will be able to hand off your luggage to the porters directly before everyone gets in line. If you all want to check in together they can wait on the inside for you. Budgets shuttles run back and forth all the time but you might need to wait for a little while.

We have used Budget many times. It is the easiest. We always drive to the Port. Drop off our bags and excess people. Then, drive about a short distance to drop the car off at Budget (Quayside location). They do offer a shuttle to the dock. How long it takes depends upon if it is available at that moment, how many people are riding on it, etc. However, we always walk back to the boat. Takes about 10 minutes. Be sure you have your passport and boarding documents with you. You will have to show them to the Port Security as you walk inside the compound. The employees at Budget have also always been very nice.

We have done budget numerous times. I always drop the bags and husband at the port, return the car and catch the shuttle back. My husband would gladly do it but he is horrible with directions and I have built in radar.
