dapaddo Posted May 28, 2013 #28 Share Posted May 28, 2013 we are booked at the quality inn gretna... is that area safe? We are also booked there for two nights before. We will have a car but want to take the trolly to sight see. Is there somewhere to park to do that?
pjwalden Posted June 22, 2013 #29 Share Posted June 22, 2013 We are also cruising on Feb. 15th. I originally booked a hotel in Harvey but, changed it to the Comfort Inn by the airport. It's a lot less driving to get to the cruise port from there. And, they also have a free airport shuttle. That saves at least one taxi ride. ntshop Posted June 23, 2013 #30 Share Posted June 23, 2013 We just returned from cruising on Carnival Conquest out of New Orleans. We stayed at the Hampton Inn - St. Charles - Garden District. They will allow you to leave your car there while you are on your cruise. They do not offer shuttle to the cruise port however they arranged a cab for us. The cost was $7 per person each way. They serve an ok breakfast which was fine because you can eat on the ship as soon as you board. The trolley runs directly in front of the hotel which takes you to Canal and from there you can take other trolley's to other areas. The cost of a daily pass was $3 per person. We felt this was an excellent hotel and also a good value.
