CruiserJul Posted March 23, 2013 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2013 I have found that COZ is 2 hours behind Tampa on March 30th. The port schedule says we are going to dock at 9:00am COZ time, and our itinerary says we are going to dock at 9:00am ship time. Either one of these is wrong, or the ship is going to change time. Can anyone on previous "4 day to COZ" trips tell us what your actual experience was. __________________

elleusion Posted March 23, 2013 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2013 Well the world clock states Grand Cayman is an hour behind Tampa time and Coz is 2 hours behind. I'm thinking the ship stays on ships time..someone will correct me if I'm wrong(I hope) L
SkyMaster Posted March 23, 2013 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2013 As I recall, we've always stayed on "Tampa Time", or "Ships Time" for the entire cruise. When you go ashore, in both ports, be sure that you don't use your phone, or any other device that will update to the correct local time, and don't use the clock in "Carlos & Charlies" for your "return to the ship time". If you do, you'll be one of the "pier runners" we hear so much about. "SKY"
loanshark Posted March 24, 2013 #5 Share Posted March 24, 2013 This past October, we docked around 9AM ship time. Keep your watch on ship time, and you will have no problems. As far as the two hour difference between Tampa and Coz.... most of the year, it is a one hour difference. However, we go to daylight savings time earlier in the year than Mexico, which is why it is two hours at this time of year. (I believe they "spring forward" on April 7). keystonemama Posted March 24, 2013 #6 Share Posted March 24, 2013 If you're visiting Cozumel between March 10 and April 6, 2013, watch out for an extra one hour time difference between Mexico and the United States and Canada. This happens because the United States and Canada change to Daylight Savings Timebefore Mexico and is especially important for cruise passengers, as some ships stay on the time of their United States homeport, even when they arrive to Cozumel.
