Overnight parking at Pier in Kahului, Maui

There's no charge for parking at the pier. There's only a small lot directly across from the pier, but cars were parked anywhere and everywhere else that they could find a spot. The rental car shuttle driver did tell us not to block people in or park in driveways because we would be towed.

Here is the "official" word on overnight parking in Kahului. I just got off the phone with the State of Hawai`i, Kahului Harbor Division. The pier is their property and not under the juristiction of Maui County.

There are no restrictions on overnight parking as long as the vehicle does not block any driveways or the roadway. The area is patrolled, and there have been very few problems.
