please help, going nuts over NOLA !!!!

please please help.

looking for a hotel but have no idea what 'district' to stay in.

1. i will have my two children so i dont really want them to be in the middle of the late night pary goers.

2. but i dont want to be too far from the party crowd either because i will have a sitter and plan to go out for a few hours to explore with my hubby.

3. i want to be near wherever the childrens day time activities are going to be.

4. heard someone talking about 'street cars' as transportation.... how do you use those?

please help this poor crazy lady, lol.

I suggest a hotel in the Warehouse District. They are smaller and more user-friendly than the big hotels on Canal Street, and you get more space and amenities for your money. Rooms in the French Quarter tend to be smaller and more expensive.

These hotels are fairly easy walking distance, or a short cab ride, to the French Quarter and most of the other attractions. There are lots of good places to eat nearby.
