pubs in southampton

:p hi me and my wife will be flying into gatwick on monday morning then taking train to southampton,then drop off luggage at express by holiday inn on botely road,wanted to find a pub for a beer,music or jukebox would be nice some food and a pooltable?,do any of you have any ideas,or thooughts on this matter thank you,bubbadog:rolleyes:

Hi Bubbadog,

 

I would recommend The Jolly Sailor at Bursledon. About 3 miles from your hotel. A taxi would be your best bet (the barman at the pub will help you get a taxi back).

 

This pub lies on the River Hamble (famous moorings for sailing in the Solent). Excellent food, and a great pint of beer (make sure you try the hand-pumped beer!). The view from the pub is terrific and if its a nice evening (which it should be this time of year) you can sit outside by the river.
