ladycajun Posted June 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2005 Is there any tours that can take you to these Falls without having to use the ship tours.
TheWog Posted June 17, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I am sure there are some. Check with all the guides named on the boards here, but understand it will be about a 2 hour ride one way from Mo' Bay to Dunns River Falls.
jamaicadreaming Posted June 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2005 I'm new to the boards, but from what I can see in the stickies on top it will be difficult to get a specific recommendation because advertising isn't encouraged. However, there are definitely a plethora of tour operators available to take you on various tours. I think mentioning names is ok? I hope so. I know that a company called Holiday Services won tour operator of the year award from another website. There's a company called Taxi Jamaica that I used last time I was there. I like that the established companies have insurance policies. Of course, (I don't know if you've been to Jamaica before?) when you arrive at port there will be a gaggle of fly-by-night "tour operators" willing to take your business. You'll probably still have a good time and pay less than you would on the ship, but you might be taking chances with the level of service. Remember there is a one and a half hour travel time between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios. It's a small island, but not that small! Enjoy Jamaica!
