CaliPhil Posted June 19, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2005 My Wife and I are leaving in a few days for our first cruise out of the Port of Miami. For months now we've read posts telling us to get there early, late, etc. If it makes a difference we're part of the Skipper's Club. What is the best time to get to the Port? Never done SC at Miami, but always arrived around 11-11:30 and boarded the ship by noon. The long lines will be around 1-2:30pm.
InMN253 Posted June 19, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2005 On past Miami cruises, we had had always arrived around 1:00 pm because we had purchased air fare thorough the cruise line. Last cruise was out of Ft. Lauderdale, and we arrived the day before. We took a cab to the pier and got there around 10:30 am. Even though we had to wait until 1:00 pm to board, we didn't stand in line very long (we got to sit), and we had more time to people-watch. On the next Miami cruise I'm going to fly in the day before and try to get to the pier around 10:30-11:00 am. It's nice to be among the first on board. serene56 Posted June 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 19, 2005 Depending on when the last people are put off you may find that you have a hard time getting into the port about 10. I go about 11 and usually onboard by noon. Skippers club is priority checkin. You will find that at this time 11am) you wont really need it. 98Charlie Posted June 19, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2005 I think it can vary from departure to departure. If a lot of the cruise flights arrive at the same time you will find lines, no doubt. But, it depends on when those flights arrive. In 10 cruises we have arrived anywhere from 10:30 to 2PM. 7 of them we basically walked right up to the counter, checked in and boarded.
