SanFranBayCruiser Posted June 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2005 I went out for the morning paper and sitting on my front porch was the express envelope from my TA with our Carnival Liberty documents!! I'm flying high! I can answer some questions some of European Liberty cruisers have had thanks to the handy mini-brochure they included with the documents, so I will post them now: BOARDING TIME - brochure says 2pm, ticket says 12:30pm SAIL TIME DEPARTURE - 7pm from Civitavecchia SKIPPER'S CLUB - Yes for Categories 11 and 12 CURRENCY ON THE SHIP - US Dollars but you are recommended to obtain some Euro's prior to arrival. ATM will only dispense US currency on the ship. DUTY FREE ALLOWANCE - $800 for US Citizens FORMAL NIGHT - 2 nights but no clue which nights OPTIONAL PRE-ROME TOUR FOR THOSE ARRIVING INTO FUIMICINO AIRPORT - Rome at a Glance is $89 per person and is available for guests arriving by 12 noon on embarkation day (it's 3 hours long). Holy Rome is $140 per person and is available for guests arriving by 10 am on embarkation day (it's 6 hours long). This will be the yellow sheet you find your document booklet. The rest is standard Carnival document stuff - Luggage Tags, Fun Pass, Sign and Sail stuff, etc I hope this helps some of you out there. I will be posting a full review of the 7/20 sailing! Thanks to everyone who has shared the anticipation with me!!

floofyfish Posted June 21, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2005 the refund is about 85 CDN don't know about in USD. Did the doc pack include a shore excursion booklet detailing all of them? I know the information is available on the internet, but I was hoping Carnival would be handing out more detailed info. thanks....

dock Posted June 21, 2005 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Hi there SanFranBay Cruiser. I have not received mine as yet, but TA says she has them and will be sending them on this week. Now I am getting so excited. Most of your tours are full days and look really interesting. Any suggestion as to which night is suitable for Supper Club dining? Thanks.by the way, I cannot seem to find the thread that you had initially been replying to.
BillnBobbi Posted June 21, 2005 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Isn't 7/20 the Maiden Voyage? A whole lotta CCs are on the 8/1 (check out the who is sailing with me boards), and I'm sure we all would like to know how it worked out. Of course when you get off the ship, we get on! So, here's an idea... can you meet us on the dock? Hmmmmm;...... Bnb
SanFranBayCruiser Posted June 21, 2005 Author #9 Share Posted June 21, 2005 Hi Dock - yep, getting the docs sure does make the whole thing come to life...after almost a year of waiting (we booked really early, as soon as the ship became available!) Anyhow, as far as the alternative restaurant, we think we might book for the day we're in Dubrovnik. Just keep in mind that when you book the alternative restuarant to allow about 3 hours, the meal is not rushed and it's a wonderful way to spend an evening! cruzingracie Posted June 22, 2005 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2005 You said the currency onboard was US $ -- doesn't Carnival have an "Onboard credit card" for all purchases like the other cruise lines? I haven't sailed Carnival in so long, I don't remember! Thanks, Dodie

I haven't sailed Carnival in so long, I don't remember! Thanks, Dodie If you get money from the ATM's it will be USD, if you want to use cash in the casino you will use USD. Your Sail & Sign card is used for onboard purchases.

winewanderer Posted June 23, 2005 #15 Share Posted June 23, 2005 SF Bay Cruiser, I'd be interested to know how the Wines of Tuscany Tour is. Hubby and I are considering the 12 day Europe for 2006 (among others). Hubby has no interest in seeing Florence, he wants to see the countryside and taste wine. We live in wine country, he wants to see it in Italy. Thanks.
