Avomine/Sea sickness tablets

Recommended Posts

Radiance OTS cruising out of Sydney on 10.12.2013 will be our very first cruise and I'm planning on stocking up on avomine or any sea sickness tablet that will work... Just in case!

Anyway, we are also quite seriously considering the premium beverage package but have read on somebody else's post not to mix alcohol and any sea sickness tablets.

Has anybody had any experience with this?

Thank you in advance :)

We use the generic for Bonine. It is called Meclozine and you take one tablet a day to keep the sea-sickness away. Here is a link with more info on the drug. I am sensitive to motion so I take the Meclozine everyday while at sea. I take the first one soon after I board the ship before we leave port. I have never had any noticeable side effects from it or got sea-sick. But, we do not drink very much. Perhaps the drink-of-the-day and a few at the Crown & Anchor get-togethers. The above link states that alcohol could increase the drowsiness side-effect.
