TS8213 Posted June 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2013 We're taking our first family cruise in November with Freeport and Nassau as our ports. Any recommendations for things to do with our children? Ages are 15, 9, 6 and 9 months. Obviously a huge age range. :) We're porting from 8a-5p at both ports. There doesn't seem to be many excursions through the cruise line that got great ratings. While we'd love to do a dolphin interaction, we're not sure we're ready to pony up $750 to do it. We're toying with the idea of getting a day pass to the Grand Lucayan since we'd have access to the resort facilities as well as a nice (I hope!) beach. Any thoughts on that? NJBill Posted June 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2013 We had similar demographic family. In Freeport we took a cab to Our Lucaya and went to the free beach in front of the Sheraton, then some shopping and lunch in Our Lucaya. In Nassau, we would walk through straw market, horse & bugghy ride, and go to the free Junkanoo Beach and then back to the ship. Gave kids a local flavor experience while being inexpensive. There is also a pirate museum and several local attractions. You can also pay for a day pass at one of the large hotels.
