We were in a AB suite this past May .....It was cabin 911. It was about 3 cabins from the elevator and I never heard it. We did hear the band at night during the deck parties but it didn't faze us or our baby.

Have a great cruise :)

Thanks for letting me know..We are booked in 905 and my brother is in 915.

do you know if can smoke in those rooms. I told my husband he will have to smoke outside and I don't want to change that. Did you have plenty of room with the babys things. Did you use the conciege service. What were some of the perks you had. This is my first cruise

I have been on a lot of cruises and I have stayed in all kinds of cabins and now that we have been in a suite, we are now officially spoiled :)

The Majesty suites are not huge like the newer, bigger ships but they are great! There is a tub w/ the shower which is a plus.....I am pretty sure the sq footage for the cabin was 235 sq ft....

There was a fridge, vcr (great for Elmo tapes!), sitting area...champagne....

The concierge was great...She made us reservations in any of the restaurants/ main dining areas, spa, sent us afternoon treats/ snacks.....

Took care of a problem we had with the crib....We even had a full dinner sent to our cabin!

There is a VIP party which was really nice.....

Getting off the ship was fast & easy....

When are you going?

...I forgot to answer your smoking question.....I really don't know if you can smoke in the cabin.....My hubby is a smoker and he just went up one deck to smoke outside...

Next time you cruise, go on a ship that has balconies.....then he could just step outside :)

Regarding the smoking cabins: theoretically you can only smoke in portside rooms but I don't think they stick to this very well. Regarding the suites in general: you need to know that some of the suites have lifeboats hanging outside them that completely block the views - your travel agent should find out which these are and act accordingly. There is no noise from the elevators or corridors but as one of the posters mentioned, the band is rather in the room with you when they play. The poster said it did not faze her or the baby. It fazed us! It jolted us straight out of bed one night until we finally had to get up and get dressed and go down to one of the decks where we accidentally fell asleep and woke up two hours later - back to the room which was quiet as a mouse and all ended well. They only did this on two nights so it was not a problem.

Tim, which suite were you in and where was the band playing? Thanks.

That policy changed a long time ago- all NCL cabins are smoking optional.

From NCL...

SMOKING POLICY

PUBLIC AREAS:
All staterooms are smoking optional. Smoking is permitted in the designated Smoking Areas.

I would have to check but I think we were in #921? I think it was the second suite on the portside from the middle - #921. We were near the door to the stairwell and the band played just forward of that. Also, the suites are directly beneath the deck so if someone decides to take off and run a bit, you hear that too but I've been in noisier places (I've owned noisier places!) And it didn't go on and on. It was really only two nights - it started about 10:00 and went on until midnight I think. You know, I've been told that there are two or four AB suites one deck down and forward - they are supposed to be slightly larger than the ones we are talking about (on deck #9) but I've also been told that they are directly above a nightclub and that the noise in these is constant from about 8:00 until 2:00 - so, for me, I would rather have two nights of two hours of errant music and an occasional footfall than a steady evening of disco! I must say, though, that I primarily like to read and stay in the room a great deal and I think this is not the usual habit - I think most people are out and about and room noise probably doesn't bother most people so I try not to let it bother me.

Thanks McCutie for all the great info.

We should have plenty of room with just the 2 of us. I want to be spoiled.

We are going Jan. 14. Just a 3 1/2 hour drive to Charleston for us so it will be an easy cruise to take. My daughter and son-in-law took it last year and loved it.

Did you eat in Le Bristo. I think I want to try it after reading all the posts about it.

My husband needs his coffee and cig before breakfast so if he can just smoke that one in the suite he will be a happy man.

We did find out about the lifeboats and had my brothers suite change a couple of doors down instead of next door.

I don't think the band will bother us. We stay up late but DH likes to sleep in some mornings.

...I did forget to add that we had a slightly obsructed view....(lifeboat) but again it didn't faze us.....I guess we were just so happy to get away...hahaahha.... No honestly, this suite was a last minute booking for us and the difference in price was only $50 so we jumped on it.......Otherwise, we probably would of stayed in the CC catagory......

I had planned on saving the money and booking a CC room but my husband and brother wanted to treat the wives special. I may never get him on another cruise so I jumped at a suite. I will make the most out of the experience.

We ate at Le Bistro last year but this year we only ate there for the sushi lunch that they served in there one day...

The food is very good~ The chocolate fondue was terrific~

Maybe you can win the dinner :) There is a free slot pull in the casino and that is one of the prizes.....If not, it is def. worth the extra money.....

Thanks Tim for telling me which room you were in.

According to the floor plan of the ship our room is the first one outside the Royal Observatory. I can take some noise but not all night. I think we should be ok. i can always turn up the T.V. But I don't plan on spending all my time in the room. I think I will find lots to do
