jillba Posted June 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2005 We are sailing on AOS 7/31/05 and I ws wondering if someone could tell me if you have to sign up ahead of time for the rock wall and how you get tickets for the ice shows. THANKS
AugustHoneymoonCruiser Posted June 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2005 There is no sign up for the rock wall....The sea days the wall is mobbed with people, but the other days, it has a light crowd. Best advice is to get up and be there earlier in the day. As the day goes on, the more people climb. As for the ice show, don't worry!! They announce all the time where and when to get your tickets for the show. They have multiple showings of the ice show, so there is no panic if you don't get the first seating/day of the show. It is definitely not to be missed, but relax....you're on vacation and an AMAZING one at that!!!!
VacationNut Posted June 27, 2005 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2005 Are you sure there is no sign-up for the rock wall? On both Voyager and Explorer we had to sign up at the Activities Booth on the sports deck? Similarly, we signed there for roller-blading
bayjoens Posted June 27, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2005 We were on the Monarch last summer and there was no advance sign-up list there either. You just showed up early enough and it was first-come, first-served. Be sure you are dressed appropriately when you get there though. Could be a problem otherwise. I think you have to be dry (no damp swimsuits) and have socks with you or on. Is the same as other people's experiences?
eileen226 Posted June 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2005 On the Navigator for the past two summers, and the Majesty last February, you signed up for the rock wall and got in line. No advance sign up. Just bring an adult to sign for the kids and socks!
mariposas Posted June 28, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2005 We were on the AOS a few weeks ago and my fiance was interested in doing the rock climbing wall. There was no advanced sign up but pay special attention to the sign-up/climbing hours listed on the cruise compass. We missed the morning one, which was around 11 am and the next one was at 2pm so we never ended up climbing the wall after all. There's also special climbing hours for different age groups and different levels of expertise.
