Hotels in New York.. is there any other option than Priceline for bidding???

Need a hotel for two night in mid..July. I have never been to NY so don't even know which areas to avoid. Also would appreciate advise on where on internet to get best prices.

I found a small boutique hotel which is very reasonable for my stay in Sept. The name is: The Belvedere. The location is excellent as is their rates. I didn't want to spend $$$$$$'s for one pre-cruise night. I would give them a call.

Just a suggestion.......

Hey Martita B - after much research we also booked rooms at The Belvedere for our post Transatlantic NY stay in September!! Have you stayed before - how are the rooms?

My husband and I stayed at the Embassy Suites by the former World Trade Center Site before we took the QM2.

 

The cost was under $200 and included a great breakfast. A big plus was the great view of the Hudson River. I made sure I had my alarm set so I would see the QM2 as she sailed past.

 

The Cab Ride to the pier was only $11. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
