losuds63 Posted June 27, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2005 Do I have this right ---when I go into the casino on the ship and need cash they will advance me this and put it on my S$S card and bill it to my room like it was a purchase ,then it makes it onto my credit card in the end as a purchase is this correct thanks
crookedhalo Posted June 27, 2005 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2005 Yep, that's the way it works. Just make sure you understand, there's a fee for this - I think it's like 3% of whatever you get out. There are ATM's on the boat, but seem to be out of cash a few days into most cruises. Funny - they always seem to be near the casino. Wonder why that is:rolleyes: Karen

crookedhalo Posted June 27, 2005 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2005 We didn't take out much, but I'm sure there's a limit. Seems to me around $500/day maybe? Call Carnival - they should know. 3% seems like a lot to me when I could use that money to buy drinks or play slots. JMHO. Karen
tankersbabe Posted June 27, 2005 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2005 I don't know what the limit is, but I did watch a guy get $300 on his S&S, play two rounds of roulette, lose it all, and walk away. We were still playing with our original $20 that we won out of the nickel slots...LOL! We use traveler's checks to avoid the fees, but that is personal preference. SAYHEYRENEE Posted June 27, 2005 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2005 If you are a AAA member you get free travelers checks. You can cash them at the Pursors desk at no charge. Also if you put cash on your sign and sail card you can get cash from your card at no cost at the pursors desk.

I always just take some cash and travelers checks since everything onboard just goes to the card and I prepay the majority of my excursions.
