advise on Naples area

I am planning the trip for one day when I get off the cruise in Naples. I want to go to Pompeii, and probably Sorrento. Anyone can share some experience for this area? First, how far away from the port of Grand Princess to the train station? How long stay in Pompeii? Then how about the train to Sorrento or other exciting place? Thanks.

We rented a ca and it took us about 1 hour to get to Pompeii . If you like ruins you will spend more time there about a half a day . It is about another half hour drive to Sorrento .
