Hotel With Parking Vs. Hotel And Parking

Leaving on Carnival cruise August 10th.

Was planning on Quality Inn for $135 that includes parking and shuttle service.

Found Fulton parking from airportparkingreservations.com for ~$50 and realized that I could probably stay outside the city (even a hour away) for a good price.

I'm driving from Missouri.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages that would be worth noting?

We'll probably be pulling into New Orleans close to midnight.

Of course, from a cost standpoint, we could just sleep in the car along the way and just pay for parking.

Ramada Metairie! We just stayed last weekend and left our truck all week. Very clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast; very reasonably priced. Free parking during cruise. They take you to the port and you will have no problem getting taxi back to hotel afterward. Highly recommend!

FYI...

We ended up pricelining Crowne Plaza in Kenner for $50 (3 or 3 1/2 star, I forget).

It was a very nice room, although the hallways and elevators are very convoluted.

Given that it was a 3 star +, there was no free wifi or breakfast.

We stayed at Fulton and actually ended up getting charged for a day less than previously expected.

Apparently, a "day" is determined by check-in and check-out times.

I think we checked in at 1:00 PM and checked out at 11:00 AM (something like that).

When I first looked at it, the times I put in made it an extra day.

It ended up being about $50 less than a stay-and-park deal.
