heathernijoli Posted June 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2005 Which video do think is the best one to get non-cruisers to watch pre-cruise in order to get them psyched up about the pending cruise? The ones I am aware of are Voyger:Building the World's Largest Cruise Ship that talks about themaking of the ship, supplying it, staffing it, entertainment and then later about her sister ships. This one is three videos & sells on Ebay all the time for between $15 to $30. Then there is the Sovereign refurbishment one that was just recently on the Travel channel. That one could be taped for free. And then there is the one that they sell on the ship for $25 that is all on one video. Has anyone seen all three? Have a favorite? heathernijoli Posted June 30, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted June 30, 2005 It is on Ebay with a BUY IT NOW of $20 or you can make an offer. Think I will make an offer of $15 and see if it is accepted.

cbny Posted July 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 2, 2005 Hi, heathernijoli. Just out of curiosity, did you buy it on eBay from "Alamedacards"? I am thinking of doing the same thing. The feedback looks good, and a total of $20 including shipping wouldn't be too expensive for a set of 3 videos. TIA for your reply. Best wishes for a happy and safe 4th of July. RCI released several DVDs one is called GET OUT THERE,about RCI cruises in general, also a Voyager Class video. Both the videos are about 5 minutes of highlights. Ask you're TA if you can borrow them. The building of the Voyager is rather long and I find new cruisers don't always want to watch something over a hour long. RCI also has Baja Mexico and Europe cruises and tours on DVD. Carrie I did, but I had sent her some messages concerning the videos and she said it was only one video - she has licensed copies form a travel agent for promotional use. Is that ok to purchase? I did, so I hope it is ok. I mean, I only really care that it is good quality and I can see the movie. I don't care if it is in fancy packaging and the three videos in a boxed set, you know? cbny Posted July 5, 2005 #9 Share Posted July 5, 2005 Hi again, heathernijoli. Thanks a lot for your reply. I went ahead and ordered the video, too, so I hope they are okay. Let's keep our fingers crossed! In any case, the seller looks as if she has a good reputation, so people must be satisfied. By the way, it seems that her name is Heather. It looks like yours may be, too, but I am just guessing. Best wishes and hope you enjoy the video. Carrie
heathernijoli Posted July 5, 2005 Author #10 Share Posted July 5, 2005 Yes, I saw her name was Heather when I got the email from her! Us Southern gals all seem to be named Heather, Christie or Jennifer! I have not recieved mine yet but will post when it does arrive!
heathernijoli Posted July 8, 2005 Author #11 Share Posted July 8, 2005 The video came in the mail today - just in case anyone was wondering. It is all compiled on one video but isn't the original three videos? These apparantly came from a wholesale lot of videos that a travel agent had and the seller got ahold of. They have a VOYAGER label on them but it is all thre videos in ONE video... The quality is great, though, and it is complete. Now to get thru teh three hours again without leaving to cook dinner, etc!
cbny Posted July 10, 2005 #12 Share Posted July 10, 2005 Hi again, Heather. Thanks for the update. Ours should be coming Monday or Tuesday (I hope). Sounds like it will really be interesting and great preparation for our upcoming cruise. I'll let you know if the quality of ours is as good as yours. Fingers crossed.... Gingee Posted July 10, 2005 #13 Share Posted July 10, 2005 Is the video just on the Voyager?
heathernijoli Posted July 11, 2005 Author #14 Share Posted July 11, 2005 Well, it applies to all the Voyager class ships. It is over 3 hours long and has LOTS of detail about these ships, their safety, what they offer and the people who work on them.
