Capitan Morgan Posted August 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Ok guys lets talk about wine. Cruising with another three persons, one of whom is a kid ( no no not wine for him:D) the other my sister that doesn't drink and the last but not least my mom which she can have a glass of wine during dinner. Now my question is "does anybody know the prices of the wine by the glass?" average that will be. I am trying to figure out, since two of us drink it. if it is better to get a bottle ( or two :D) or order by glass. And I'd like too have one glass sitting outside our balcony ;)
TheBubbs Posted August 9, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 9, 2013 zydeo has a nice list of menus, here is the bar menu, I think wine is on page 5 http://zydecocruiser.net/Carnival-Bar-Menu/CarnivalCruiseBarMenu.htm
e150club Posted August 9, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Each adult can carry on a 750ml bottle each. No corkage fee if you don't bring it into the MDR. You could carry a glass full into the MDR. If you run low buy a bottle and the waiters will hold it for you till next meal or take it with you. They will cork it and keep it for you until the next night's meal. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Cruise Critic App
bryanool Posted August 9, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Usually you'll save a couple of bucks by buying by the bottle, as in most restaurants.

I am wondering if the price buying it online on their fun shop is just the same as buying on board in the MDR
Georgiagolfer Posted August 9, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 9, 2013 Depending on how much you will drink daily, it is cheaper to buy the 3 bottle or 5 bottle wine package. They have 3 levels of the packages and each has different wines. DW and I always purchase the wine package on Embark day. You receive coupons for the wine and redeem as you need. WAHMto5 Posted August 9, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 9, 2013 We always carry ours on and ask the room steward for a couple of wine glasses. They are awesome always keeping it on ice and we just bring a glass to dinner if we prefer;)

If you bring on wine, but not a cork screw, your room steward can get you 1 to open the bottle.
LittleJeanne Posted August 9, 2013 #11 Share Posted August 9, 2013 For as many times as we have cruised we have never bought the wine package. Can you redeem your vouchers at bars outside the mdr? Or are they only for use in the mdr?

Flick Posted August 9, 2013 #16 Share Posted August 9, 2013 They usually set up a display of the various wine packages available in the lobby or even out by the pool on the day of embarkation. It is usually cheaper to buy the bottle than to buy the glass. There are approximately 4-5 glasses of wine in a bottle (depanding of course on the sizwe of the glass) and you can buy bottles of wine for 22-$30.00 which is still less than the $32.00 for 4 glasses of wine plus tip! We each bring a bottle in our carry on for the room plus buy a package onboard but then again we are exclusively wine drinkers.

If you don't drink the whole bottle that evening, your server will cork it and you can have it on another night of the cruise. you can even have 2 bottles going at once, say one red, one white. We do this to save money. always cheaper to buy a bottle than wine by the glass. Love that they offer this for you.
