angelsop99 Posted June 30, 2005 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2005 I've never been there, but will be going on a cruise in sept. I would love to tour Atlantis, my question is can I just go in, or do i need to pay a fee. thanks
Libracruzer Posted July 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 1, 2005 The Atlantis is a giant resort hotel and casino and there is no problem walking around; it is quite a place to see with an aquarium stretching all around several restaruants. It is expensive to eat there, but it is well worth a visit.
scubagirrl Posted July 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 1, 2005 You can walk around the Casino, lobbies and stores, and view a part of the aquarium at the Great Hall of Water Restaurant, but you may NOT walk around outside by the pools, slides, lagoons etc. These are NOT open to the public, and there are no day passes except the guided tour ($$) given from the cruise ships. The Indoor restaurants are available to the public, the better ones will need a reservation in advance.
pd9845 Posted July 6, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2005 I thought you could buy a pass to the dig & aquariam for the day and it's much cheaper than having to rent a room? Is this true?
grvdggr71 Posted July 6, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2005 pd, I guess that all depends. If there is just one or two of you, and all you want is to see The Dig, then yes, the wristband is cheaper. I believe the price is in the neighborhood of $25-$30 a piece (some cruiselines offer excursions that include transportation, maybe a meal as well). Generally, this is a cheaper option than the Comfort Suites. However, if there are four of you, if you can get a good rate, and if you want to experience more than just The Dig (namely, the pools and water slides), then you can get the Comfort Suites for between $40-$50 a person. scubagirrl Posted July 6, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2005 I thought you could buy a pass to the dig & aquariam for the day and it's much cheaper than having to rent a room? Is this true? You cannot use the pools, slides, or lazy river without being a GUEST of the Atlantis or it's sister properties. That's the reason why folks rent a room. The entry fee for the DIGS ($29 ea) allows you access to the indoor aquarium and viewing tubes ONLY, and will not permit you to use the rest of the facilities. Your cruiseship may or may not include a tour which includes the DIGS and a tour of the property (you still can't use it.. just view it).. and some tours include the rights to your the BEACH in a roped off area for cruise passengers... (still not the pool) The Casino, lobbies and shoppes are open to the public.. free of charge.
