teaach Posted August 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2013 Carnival is offering me a casino rate out of New York in December 2013 of $1700. for 2 in an ocean suite, includes taxes and port charges. 8 days to the Bahamas and Port Canaveral. Never had an OS before and probably won't again. We do not like heat and would like to see Cape Canaveral. What's sailing out of New York like in the winter. Also we will not have to fly, big plus. Thats a great price for an OS! Sailing from NY is nice. Depending on the weather that time of year you shouldn't expect to be on the deck sunbathing or using the pool for at least the first day and of the voyage until you start to get farther south. However, even that is hit or miss. As crazy as the weather is lately, if you get a good week with a HOT SPELL you wouldn't even realize it was DEC. I'm currently looking at one of those 8-day cruises on the SPLENDOR, but for SEPT. I wish I had that offer you have and would grab it in a NEW YORK MINUTE (no pun) :D
pungo3 Posted August 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 21, 2013 Sounds like a very good deal to me. I've only cruised out of New York one time and it wasn't too bad. Needed a jacket the first day, AND there was some fog. Other than that, had a fabulous time. That price for an Ocean Suite is great. I hope you have a fabulous time.:D
teaach Posted August 21, 2013 Author #4 Share Posted August 21, 2013 Trying to convince hubby to go. I know he will be on board tomorrow, but the deal will go up about $300 by then. Good luck to me! lol
cruisescouter Posted August 21, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 21, 2013 Great deal!!! NYC will be cold, but if you are not a heat person you will be fine. Florida is very pleasant at that time. I can't take it on the deck when it is 100000 degrees.
teaach Posted August 21, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted August 21, 2013 My Dh and myself hate the heat and like the shade. Hope he pulls through soon, so I can. Even drinking margaritas to get in the mood.
cruisescouter Posted August 21, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 21, 2013 I am allergic to heat and sun so I know the feeling. I am very familiar with the medical stations on the carnival ships now. Didn't stop me from loving the cruise! So start pouring those ritas! My Dh and myself hate the heat and like the shade. Hope he pulls through soon, so I can. Even drinking margaritas to get in the mood.
