MSN-Travelers Posted August 24, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2013 I haven’t used Findmyexcursion dot com. They are one of many internet based third-party tour brokers and they don’t appear to represent very many tour/excursion companies. One key to successful booking of tours independently is to look for the warranty they offer. A good tour broker will offer to refund your money if the ship is late getting into port of gets diverted and doesn’t arrive at all. We are not allowed to “recommend” one tour company/broker over another but check out puertovallartatours dot net as an example of a tour broker often used successfully by many cruisers. Please note- Many of the top excursions, those sold by the ship, have contract restriction with the excursion provider that will not allow cruisers to book the same tour independently with them. As an example: XYZ dot com lets you book a dolphin excursion in Vallarta online. You’re happy with the money you just saved but will eventually be told that the excursion you booked is already full and they will refund your money. What happens is the cruise line places a hold on all the slots for the excursion and only releases unsold slots the evening before they arrive in port. Bottom line . . . If you see an excursion that you really want to do, and that excursion is sold by the ship, you will have to buy it through the ship. Enjoy!
