upsale call when booked with TA????

Has anyone ever got the call when you were booked thru a TA??? We are going on the splendor nov 1st and my mother (who booked thru carnival) got a call the other day balcony to suite for 600.00 (she declined). We uasally book thru our TA because of a few perks we get but if it excludes us from upsale calls we may have to go thru carnival next time.

I have booked all of my cruises but one with a TA and have never received a upsell call. This does not mean you cannot get a good deal on a upgrade.

 

You need to do your own homework and keep a eye on the pricing of your cruise. If a category drops in price call your TA and they will contact the cruiseline and hopefully you will get that upgrade at a good price.

I guess it's possible that Carnival would approach your TA with an upsell, but Carnival will not talk to you directly about your booking at all, everything has to go through the TA that "owns" your booking.

 

That said, I wouldn't count on upsell calls if you book through Carnival, so book whichever way you're comfortable, at a price you like.

The travel agent will receive any upsell calls on your behalf, but it is pretty rare no matter who you book through.
