Kenswing Posted September 14, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2013 Is it customary to tip in FP as it is in the U.S.? If there are differences in who and how much any info would be great. Most interested in the tipping of tour guides. If tipping them is appropriate is 20% pretty much standard? Thank you.
Tikiintahiti Posted September 14, 2013 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2013 From the official Tahiti tourism site: "Tipping is not customary in Polynesian culture and is not expected. However, tipping is welcomed for exemplary service." Most service jobs in FP already have factored a tip into their wage. A tour guide who isn't the owner would be an exception.
