Are port hole rooms the same as 4A for price drops?

I booked a port hole room for 4 people. If there are no more port hole rooms for 4, will they price match for a 4A room?

I guess it depends on the person who processes your early saver form. Twice I got the price drop and twice I was told no because the category was sold out.

You have to price match to the same catagory, so to price match to a 4a, you would have to upgrade to the 4a first. PT is below 4A.

I have price matched my PT cabins to 4As quite a few times now. I have never been denied or moved. So, yes and no.

 

If you price match to a 4A, be warned, they may move you to a 4A. Even though a 4A is technically above a PT, us porthole lovers know that it's really a mental downgrade. ;)

 

Anyway, I always make a note in the comment section that I'd like to price match to the higher category, but keep my cabin. It has worked every time so far. Again, just know you're running a risk. Good luck!
