littlesnit Posted October 16, 2013 #27 Share Posted October 16, 2013 WOO-HOO........26 days out and I finally got lucky. Had it not been for ya'lls help/advice,(to keep checking) I'd of gave up on day 1.;) I really needed this as I don't think my knees could of handled all the standing envolved with boarding and disembarkment again. I was real close in throwing in the towel and getting a handicapped placard from my Dr. so I could ride the wheel chair.:( Hi Slacktide, You don't really need a placard or a w/c to get into the handicapped boarding. Just let them know when you're checking in at the pier that you have mobility problems. I always use my cane when I cruise and they always offer me a w/c, but I decline it. Pre FTTF they allowed me to board as a handicapped passenger. Actually, they directed me to that area, I didn't even have to ask. Also, you can ask to be allowed to sit during muster drill. They have a special place where people with legit reasons meet for muster where seating is available. Happy cruising and take care of those knees.
