Thanksgiving Airfare

We are cruising on the Carnival Imagination on December 2nd. When I booked us, I didn't realize that Thanksgiving is pretty late this year and even though we are cruising in December, we will be traveling over Thanksgiving weekend. Four of us are driving down, but my sister has some time constraints on the way there and will be flying instead. Does anyone know of a way to find a good deal on a one way flight from Virginia to Miami on December 1st? The airports and times are sort of flexible because we will have a car to pick her up from wherever, but the date is firm. The cheapest I have been able to find for a oneway (she will be driving back with us) is a flight from Richmond to Fort Lauderdale for $213.

She could drive from RIC/Richmond to BWI/Baltimore in under 3 hours and fly one-way to FLL for $138 on Spirit.

Cheapest flights out of VA seem to be from the DC airports but considering gas and parking, might not be the best option for you. Good luck. Hope it works out.

Now that I am thinking about it, I guess the airport flexibilty only applies to airports south of Richmond, VA since we have to drop her back off on the drive back up.

If someone has to pick her up, you might want to check flying into West Palm Beach as well or Allegiant Air (which they are much smaller and go to the local airports)
