smith1to Posted October 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2013 Will dock in San Juan around 11pm and ship leaves at 6. I would love to do a tour of the rain forest but don’t want to do it via the ship excursion. Is a cab an option? Or are there normally tour vendors right outside of the ship offering this type of tour? Do you know of any companies who I can contact and obtain quotes on picking up a group of 4, taking us to the rain forest, allowing us to tour and then returning us to the ship? 2. Has anyone heard of the tour company called Natural Wonders? If so, did you use them and what was your experience?

A tour is a good option, there will always be some short tours geared towards cruise ship visitors. Keep in mind that travel time there and back is about 1 hour each way, so that would just give you a couple of hours in the park- probably OK for some photo stops and visitor center, but not much in the way of hiking/swimming. Also, keep an eye of the government shut down, El Yunque is currently closed, as are the 2 forts in Old San Juan.
