Bowtie or long tie?

My fiance is renting a tux for our formal night on RCI, but he doesn't want a bowtie. Do people wear vests and long ties with their tuxes or mainly just bowties?

 

just wondering before we go ahead and rent it.

My DH wears a bowtie the first formal night and a long necktie the next formal night. He has several colours of long ties: black, silver and gold.

If you watched the Oscars you would have seen a lot of gents wearing tuxes with long ties.

My DH & DS(13) both wore long ties on all 3 formal nights of our recent Celebrity cruise. They wore ties & vests that matched my dresses. You will see a mixture of both.
