We are cruising on the Splendor on Nov 1st (next Friday) Looking for a fairly cheap hotel to stay at when we get back on the Nov 9th and also parking while we are on the cruise. I don't really want to spend $35/day at the pier! Help anyone!! Has anyone parked at a hotel while they cruised if they stay there when they get back like we are planning? I also don't want to spend $500 on a hotel room!

Where are you driving from? You are 4 people, right? Your best choice is a park/sleep at Newark Airport.

I'm only seeing one company that offers parking with a hotel stay at the end. That would be stay123.com. The others seem to only offer a hotel night at the beginning. You want to choose Country Inn and Suites. Some of the offered hotels we do not recommend or they only are for 2 people or only have 7 days parking.

You have to arrive in Newark early enough to have time to leave your car and get a cab to Newark Penn Station (about $25-30) to take the train to New York Penn Station($5/pp) where you would get a cab to the port ($15). With four people it pays to take a cab to Newark Penn Station rather than go on the hotel shuttle back to the airport, ride the monorail to the Newark Airport Station, and pay $12.50/pp to go to NYC.

At the end of your cruise you can check your luggage at Schwartz Travel on W. 36th St while you tour NY. You would have to pick it up by 11 pm and reverse your trip back to Country Inns - cab to New York Penn Station, train to Newark and cab to the hotel.

With this scenario you would need to be able to manage your luggage.
