Grandmaanne7 Posted October 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted October 26, 2013 We board the Sensation in just 2 weeks. Since it is such a short cruise (4 days), and 2 in our party of 6 are first time cruisers, I would hate for them to miss out on something simply because we didn't know about it soon enough. Usually we cruise 7 days or longer and often learn something new or interesting about the ship each day. Is there anything that we just shouldn't miss, such as shows, special areas, secrets, freebies, warm cookies at 3:00, etc. on the Sensation? dulcimergirl Posted October 26, 2013 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2013 The Behind the Fun tours, are always one of my favorite things to do. Late night room service is fun, they make a great grilled cheese. Trivia is fun, and you might win a solid gold ship on a stick. Have fun!
ucmom3 Posted October 26, 2013 #3 Share Posted October 26, 2013 We enjoyed the Comedy Show, and the Serenity area. We had that area to ourselves when we docked in Freeport. The loungers by the pool are so crowded, they were basically on top of one another. Also before we left Port Canaveral, a huge manatee came up along the side of the ship, we were watching some jellyfish and he just popped up. Of course by the time I got my camera he was gone, so make sure you keep your close...lol Have a great trip! ffmikey Posted October 26, 2013 #4 Share Posted October 26, 2013 I'm also on that sailing with Grandmaanne7, 1st time on Sensation. Do any of you know if the bars had Thirsty Frog Ale? We have several 1st timers and one of my buddies is a beer fan and I would like to buy him his first drink.... Mike
Hockey Addict Posted October 26, 2013 #5 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Just got home Thursday. We didn't see the thirsty frog but we weren't looking for it. We are not beer drinkers. If I saw it I would have tried it though. There is a magician that was pretty cool. His show was at 10:30pm in the library the 2nd night. If you go, go early. It was packed and people were standing. He was walking table to table in the dining room the first night doing tricks. That is the first time we have seen it even though I have read about it. Pretty neat! The taste bar is right outside the casino from about 5:30 to 8:30 where you can try samples of the blue iguana, red frog pub, and the captains Italian restaurant (not sure how to spell it) Wee Jimmy is hilarious. Shannen from the entertainment team is a sweetheart and Sheli is full of energy. Orlando is a trip and Eli, who worked with john heald is there and a lot of fun! You will have a blast.... Great crew! She may be the oldest in that class but she is clean and working good!

Grandmaanne7 Posted October 26, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted October 26, 2013 Thanks all! You've given us lots to look forward to. I'm sure we will find lots of great, fun things to fill our 4 days aboard.
slord12 Posted October 26, 2013 #8 Share Posted October 26, 2013 We enjoyed spending our evenings in Michelangelo's lounge, the bartender there was so sweet and the band was awesome. They were all from the Philippines and played rock cover songs, so awesome! Also, a tip, I like to pack my clothes and toiletry bag and head up to the spa locker rooms to shower. So much more room and it's never crowded!

drumbeatfive Posted October 28, 2013 #10 Share Posted October 28, 2013 I'll pass along a tip it took us a few days to figure out....If your cabin is mid-ship and you're on the Lido, take the glass stairwell by the stage. It will bring you down to the Promenade. Go to the right and around the first corner and you can catch an elevator. Before we discovered the glass stairwell, we were going all the way forward to the atrium elevators and then doubling back on our deck. Hope it helps! Happy Cruising! jcearth Posted October 28, 2013 #12 Share Posted October 28, 2013 Far From Over is a really good show, especially if you like 80s music. It will be on the last night, so get seats early. Also, the waterslides are great, even if you are not a kid.

FlyingCruiserNJ Posted November 12, 2013 #17 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Well, I sailed on this thing about 2 weeks ago and it was a good time. I posted my review - it is linked in my signature if you want to check it out. I had never been on that ship before but was on its sister ships a few times in the past. It is basic. Compared to what I have seen on here on the Breeze, Dream, etc, it is bare-bones no-frills. But it is still a very good and relaxing experience. I checked out the taste bar, it is hard to find and if I had not read about it here, I would never have known at all about it. Check out the serenity deck, all the way at the back of the ship right below lido. There aren't really that many hidden gems on there IMO but plenty to do anyway.
