Things to do before and after Silver Moon

We are booked with Silver Moon while in Barbados. Their cruise is from 11 - 4. The Destiny docks at 7 AM and leaves at 10 PM. We will not want to waste the hours before or after. Can anyone advise of something that we can do before and still make our pickup? I am not familiar with the port and don't know if we have to tender or not. We would be happy with anything that we could fit in. We cruise for the ports and try to see as much as possible. Is there a beach, shopping, etc. within walking distance or a short cab ride?

 

Also for after. I've seen some really gorgeous sunset pictures of Barbados. Any suggestions on where to watch? Any other suggestions for the evening?

 

We want to see lots but don't want to get stressed out trying to keep to our schedule either. Any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Dee,

You will be docked. Depending on where you dock, there may be shuttle buses to the terminal. There are shops in the terminal where you can browse a bit, but you could also walk to Pelican Village, which is a crafts market. It's not terribly far to town if you like to walk, and you could stroll around Bridgetown for a bit. There are some historical sights, some nice shops and outdoor cafes where you can sit and enjoy a beverage and people-watch. Here's a website you may find helpful: http://www.barbados.org
