MSC's Norway itineraries

Hello All!

We're hoping to visit Norway on our next cruise and have been checking out MSC's itineraries. I noticed that all of them list "Hellesylt/Geiranger" as one of the ports. I looked it up on Google maps, and it looks like Hellesylt is "partway" into the fjord, and Geiranger is "all the way" at the end of Geirangerfjord. From what I've heard, seeing Geirangerfjord is one of the highlights of a Norway cruise, and I don't want to miss something important if we only go as far as Hellesylt. Can anyone who has cruised to Norway with MSC shed any light on this for me? Many thanks!

Hello,

 

When ship arrives at Hellesylt, they drop off passengers there who have excursions booked through the ship and continue to Geiranger with the remaning passengers. The ones who were off in Hellesylt meet the ship in Geiranger.

 

I did the TRANSFER FROM HELLESYLT TO GEIRANGER excursion there and I definitely recommend it. Well worth the money.

After Hellesylt/Geiranger the next most beautiful fiord (IMO) is to the south, the Sognefiord with the cruise stop at Flam.

No problem at all ;)

I mean, you will be able to see the Geirangerfjord eitherways but if you go up to Dalsnibba mountain you will be able to see it from 1500 m.o.h.

Wow looking at the photos, I remembered how much I wanna go there again. I now regret that I didn't go up to the North Cape. (My itenerary was Hellesylt, Geiranger, Bergen, Stavanger, Oslo, Kopenhagen, Kiel)

I am having a very difficult time trying to choose an itinerary...I'd love to include the North Cape but am not sure if time and budget will allow. Time will tell!
