Pre Pay on sail & sign card

Hi...I was just wondering if there is a way to put money on your credit before your cruise...

I just spoke to my travel agent and she said that you can pre pay your tips...

I am thinking that is a great idea because that is $240.00 on our account to start off with!!

Personally, I will not prepay my tips, as you have NO way to adjust them, if you needed to, if you prepaid them. However, you can call Carnival and purchase either funship dollars or shipboard credit and use that on your cruise. They mail you funship dollars and you apply that to your onboard account, or you purchase shipboard credit and use that to pay your tips and anything else as well.

1- 800-906-7603

call and place any amount onto your account or order funship dollars.

I get one 50.00 funship dollar each month. To date I have over 200.00 to use for my February cruise. Funship dollars can only be had in incremets of 25.00, 50.00 75.00 or 100.00

Yu take these wtith you and go to the pursers desk to cash them onto your account.

I have been doing this for about two weeks now i put $25 a week on it and i dont cruise till October. I figure if i keep this up we will start the week at $350 on our account. While i am doing this the hubby does not know i am doing it so it will be a surprise when we get to the port. I call Carnival wvery Wednesday and have them take it out of my checking account and it is so easy.

I put 500.00 in on our Jan. 2005 cruise on the Victory..

When we got on board.. We already had it on our sail and sign card.

We had really bad service so by the middle of the week I went and removed the tips off. Paid them at the end of the cruise.

But it was really cool to have that money on the card.

On the last night I went into the casinio and gambled a little and cashed the rest out..

Really it was sooooo easy.. I am doing it again for this Jan. cruise.

Plus I have half our group doing it too!!!!

yeah i made a comment on this subject back in april from my may cruise... You just call the number, or puchase "funship Dollars" from the website and its already added to your s&s account. So basically, your using your credit card if you look at it, as a cash advance, BUT, it just show's up as a regular Carnival Cruise Lines "Purchase", which is the beauty of it. Knowing this, I put $650.00 on my onboard account! And when you need cash, just go to the casino, show your card, and just say how much you want in cash from your card, they just charge you a small transaction fee for it, no biggee

You dont need to pay the 3% service fee to cash out the remainer on your card. You will get a check under your door on the last night-which you can cash in the morning at the Pursers desk.

This is a great idea. I just booked our cruise yesterday but we don't sail until 12/24. I will have lots of time to build up the account.

I'll say it again - this board is full of great tips and suggestions.

Thanks :)

One little wrinkle to this: can't prepay or use Funship $'s if under 21.

Co-worker's son going on cruise in couple week's with another family. She was wanting to pre-pay on his S&S acct before he leaves. Carnival says she can't do pre-post $ to his account. Funship $'s are usable by anyone under 21 and aren't transferable.

So, a special circumstance, but wanted to let folks know about the wrinkle in a similar situation.

I guess I am not understanding what you mean by funship dollars are not transferrable? I got them... my name is on it but Joe used them on his account.

I suggest to call again and get another person. I also got my kids money on their accounts and i had kids under 21

It may be because the co-workers son is going w/ another family and the S/S acct is in that families name/reservation.

She had Carnival on the phone for 25 minutes trying to figure out a way to have the son his "own" S/S acct and pre-pay it. Carnival couldn't figure it out either.

Did your friend call 1-800-906-7603 or did they call carnival directly. The number here is for the dept that handles all funship $$. For one-- they send them to you-- you dont even have to have a cruise booked.

I am at a loss at what to tell you. I think your friend got ahold of someone who dont know what they are talking about.

Since you are sailing in three weeks-- I suggest to order the funship dolalrs.. takes a week to get them. If there is aproblem with the kid using them-- I will buy them back. But I honestly dont see a problem.

I bought Fun Ship Dollars at the LAST MINUTE, which was OK per Carnival Sales Rep... It all worked out fine... My cruise was on a Monday, and I bought them the "Wednesday" before, yes 5 days before cruise! After purchase, I immediately got a couple emails for receipt or order, and then a purchase receipt telling me all was ok.. I called up Carnival that morning before i left home just to confirm my money was on there, and it was, and everything went well, totally...

p.s. If you want to buy FunShip dollars at the last min like I did, Carnival needs you to do this with 3 full business days before sailing...:)
