I usually just charge everything to my credit card but do I have the option of switching and paying the bill off in cash at the end of the cruise? It would be nice to have one less bill to pay off at Christmas if it's all taken care of then!

many thanks,

Camelia

We also used our credit card and then on the last night when we were done we cashed out in the casino went to Guest Relations and had won enough to pay off our sail and sign! But we also had 425.00 in credits going in our balance was 130.00 and we were up 125.00 in the casino!

You can also pay your bill at the "reverse ATM machine". They have a couple throughout the ship.

Keep it simple. No credit card to start with. Start with a cash deposit in your account. Then change to cc later if you use up the cash or don't wish to add more. If you put a large amount into your account, you'll get the balance back if you don't use it all.

I would recommend this too! If you put a credit card or debit card to start with, CCL with put authorization holds on it throughout your cruise.... we once had authorizations stay on for over a week after our return after we paid cash at the end.

Me too. Sure made us a mess once at a theme park trying to buy tickets and got denied because of a hold.

do they also take any currency? I have some leftover euros that I would love to get rid of!!

I'm not sure about Euro's but I have used Canadian currency to make payments on board so maybe it's a possibility. I was also able to exchange Canadian money for US (instead of getting cash from the ATM and racking up service charge and exchange rate fees) so maybe you can do the same with Euros.

We put 300 to 500 on account in cash 1st day on ship , you can check your balance on the TV in your cabin , If you need more on your account go to front desk and deposit more , Night before departure ,go to guest services and get remaining cash back .

How much does Carnival require you to put down if you are doing cash? On HAL we are required to put down $60/pp/day which for the two of us for a 7-day is $840.

Thank you!!

Recommended, yes, but not required. My Liberty cruise recommended the $200 for a 7 nighter. I'm not a big spender, so got some back. This is great because my debit card remained free of any holds. The length of holds varies from bank to bank. Not all of us have limitless credit/debit cards, so we plan accordingly.
