pjtkl Posted December 1, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 1, 2013 Hello all I am hoping someone can help me - we are on the Sea Adventurer with Zegrahm Expeditions 05 Jan 2104 and they won't have boots on board for us to lend (even though it is a Quark operated ship for the rest of the year and they do loan out boots!). Has anyone rented boots in Ushuaia? I am wondering what selection they would have and what quality they would be? Are there limited sizes or do they have plenty? Or should I just look at buying boots in Ushuaia and where would I do this? To rent from Zegrahm would be too expensive for us and we don't want to be travelling beforehand with bulky boots! Any help would be much appreciated:) Thanks. Jenny
parischris Posted December 1, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 1, 2013 I usually carry my own boots or rent them from Ship to Shore (they don't service your ship unfortunately), but you could try the Antarctic Equipment Office in Ushuaia, who rent out all sorts of equipment, including boots. Mike2131 Posted December 3, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 3, 2013 For about $20.00 or so you can get a pair perfectly suited for Antarctica (I suggest fabric lined). Once you complete the cruise, you can donate them to the ship (for the crew) if you don't want to haul them back. They are very happy to get them and it is a much less costly solution than rentals.
