Get off the ship and take the cab to Alto De Chavon.....wonderful village and only $7-8 round trip. Check out my link below for our trip there!

We took a bus from the pier area to the local flea market & it was a horrible experience. I love to shop & buy junky soveniers and they were so in your face that after 10 minutes I was ready to come back to the ship Just my experience. We did a island tour thru Carnival that was good tho

Agreed. I did a La Romana tour that stopped there. I stuck close to the driver, thinking they wouldn't bug me if I was with him, but I was still bugged non-stop. I asked to go sit in the van until we were done at the stop. Non-stop people coming up to me asking if I want to buy peanuts in a plastic baggie, soda, water, have my shoes shined, etc. No thank you.
