Also posted on Princess board. We are going on the Western Caribbean cruise out of Houston. We plan to do shore excursions in all ports (snorkeling Cozumel and Roatan; Lamanai ruins in Belize).

We will have our 12-year-old daughter and her 12-year-old friend with us. One of the excursions, the Belize ruins, says a liability waiver must be signed.

We will have the friend's passport and a notarized letter from her parents. Will including something to the extent of "we authorize so and so (my husband and me) to sign on behalf of our daughter" be enough so that we can sign the liability waiver on our daughter's friend's behalf?

I called Princess and AAA and neither knew for sure. Princess said their shore excursion department said I need to call the consulates of the various countries.

I really don't want to go through international bureaucratic limbo nor chalk up lots of international phone calls. Does anyone know if including that sentence in their notarized letter that authorizes us to take her out of the country with us be enough?

Thanks.
