San Juan port and parking

Hi, we are cruising out of San Juan. We will have a rental car for when we are there before the cruise. We are hoping there is parking for unloading at the cruise port (in order to get us all unloaded from the car and onto the ship) then my husband can return the car to the airport. Has anyone done that or know if it is possible. (parking very close to ship as we are traveling with our parents as well as our teens.)

There is a drop off/pick up area to the right of the terminal entrance. It is usually pretty jammed with taxis.

 

There is parking inside the terminal gates, but I believe its for port staff.

We rented our car through Charlie's/Ace Rental, and they provide shuttle to/from the airport and cruise port. We rented with airport pick up and dropped off at the cruise port and used the shuttle service on both ends. I'm not sure if other rental companies have a cruise port drop off, but it worked out very well for us. The cruise port drop off is actually in the Condado area, which is just outside of Old San Juan, so it was only a 5 min drive to the cruise port.
