Formal night on 2 night cruise?

Hi, my SIL and I are booking a 2 night cruise and were wondering if there is a formal night on such a short cruise? Thanks in advance

We did a 2-nighter and were surprised to find that there was a Formal night - on the second night. Shame that we didn't realise before leaving home as we were unprepared.

The last couple of 2 nighters we have done have had a formal night on the second night, but no captains drinks reception, with a high percentage of fellow cruisers dressing accordingly.

I've been on quite a few 2 night cruises on P&O ships and there has always been a formal night and it has always been the second night.

 

There used to be a Captain's cocktail party with free drinks before dinner on this night but that doesn't happen now but the dress code is still formal.
