suzQ28 Posted January 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2014 I was planning on booking their three stop snorkel trip that starts at 10am local time. We will be arriving in port at 9am and have purchased faster to the fun, so we'll have priority tendering. I thought this would timing would work out perfect, but in trying to book the excursion, the are saying we need to check in by 9:15 for their 10:00 trip. That seems awfully early to me. Has this been everyone else's experience?
rjeash Posted January 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2014 I am not sure if your times listed allow of the time change between ship time and local time. For example, if the ship starts on the east coast, they will keep the eastern time zone. I had to think about this when booking with Captain Marvin for our excursion in May. We are doing the two stop that starts at 8:30 local time but is actually 9:30 ship time which gives us plenty of time to eat breakfast, tender and get to the shop since the ship gets into port at 8:00 eastern time. That said, I would trust Captain Marvin's staff for the time to check in just because they are aware of the ships time vs local time. I did Captain Marvin's back in 2008 when we stayed on the island and it is an awesome operation. You will enjoy the spaciousness on the boat and be amazed at the other boats that look like refugee boats loaded with tons of people.
JYDAWG Posted January 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 13, 2014 I couldn't agree with rjeash more. We did Captain Marvin's 2 years ago and the check in time was no issue and we had an absolutely fantastic time. The description of the other boats looking like refugee boats is exactly what it looks like. Have a great time!
