Mosquito question

We are going on the Conquest 8/14/05 and have taken this cruise back in 2000 on the Celebration, but I couldn't remember if mosquitoes are a problem in Jamaica, Cozumel or Grand Cayman. Can anyone refresh my memory?

The mosquitos were VERY bad at the shopping area in Cozumel by the pier (we were on the Paradise.) Didn't notice any until around dusk and then they came out in full force. Shop keepers said it was rare and due to some heavy rains they had a week before. We headed back to the ship, but our friends bought one of the last bottles of insect repellent that was for sale in one of the shops and stuck it out so they could keep shopping.

I live in Minnesota and KNOW what its like to deal with mosquitos but have never seen them as bad as they were that night! People couldn't even walk down the sidewalk without doing a "little dance" trying to swat the pesky bugs!

As a side note...we never noticed a single bug while hiking through the rain forest in Belize!

We just got back from Calica and Cozumel and found the mosquitoes to be vicious! They were even trying to bite my DH through his shirt! We brought some "Bug and Sun" with us and that seemed to save us! The only place they weren't too bad was directly on the beach.
