sanda967 Posted January 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Wondering if any establishments downtown Road Town offer this. Or anywhere else in Tortola? Thanks!
rqd Posted January 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2014 It looks like about 6 locations in Road Town. Here's the source I used: http://www.wificafespots.com/wifi/city/VG--Tortola,_Road_Town They also have Android/iOS/Blackberry/Windows apps to help you find WiFi: http://www.wificafespots.com Probably best to print a list before you go rather than having the catch-22 experience of looking for WiFi to run your WiFi finder app. rqd
Three hills Posted January 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2014 We were in Tortola last week. We chose to go to Nanny Cay beach. It is a very small and beautiful beach 10 minutes away from ship by taxi. There's a hotel and bar on the beach and there was free wifi. We also used their deck chairs and umbrellas free of charge. alreadypacked Posted February 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2014 We were in Tortola last week. We chose to go to Nanny Cay beach. It is a very small and beautiful beach 10 minutes away from ship by taxi. There's a hotel and bar on the beach and there was free wifi. We also used their deck chairs and umbrellas free of charge. We went there about 4 and a half years ago while it was still being renovated (there was no one there but us and a lady snorkeling) and thoroughly enjoyed the free palapas and chairs and beautiful beach. Question: Did they know you were cruise passengers and it was still no problem to use the chairs and free wifi or did they think you were guests of the hotel? Also, how much was the taxi fare per person each way (or roundtrip)?
Three hills Posted February 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2014 already packed The beach was not crowded but there were several tourists and day cruisers. Nobody from the hotel came and ask for any money or bother us. You can even use their pool with a life guard in attendance, though personally I'd rather swim in the Caribbean waters. There were also bathrooms. The taxi cost us $7 per person. We took it from the port with another 3 couples from a different ship and she asked us what time she wanted to pick us up and came to pick us up later at agreed time.
