My teen is really looking forward to Atlantic Aquadventure in October.

BUT

It is costly -

The ship's excursion sats 830-130 That isnt much time...

Is that just when the last CARNIVAL bus will return to the ship...

( So we could stay later and take a cab )

or are they officially sailing away without us at 1:30pm after we pay them almost $400 for a 5 hour excursion?

Anyone?

5 hours is a lot of time at the waterpark in Atlantis. It's incredibly expensive but the memories will last a lifetime. We were there two years ago during a Disney cruise and the kids still talk about it all the time.

Good luck with your decision!!!

What time is your ship scheduled to leave port? Cant answer as to whether would stay longer and take cab without that info.

Skip the ship excursion and do it on your own.....Book a room at Comfort Suites Paradise Island which has a facilities share agreement with Atlantis. Check into your room at the desk, get your braclets (4 passes) and immediately check out of your room. The front desk staff there no exactly what you are doing. Walk across the street to Atlantis and have fun. We did it for about $220 or $55 per person and a huge savings.....plus cab fare of about $10 each way....

Aqua Adventure is a lot of fun --- be sure to check the opening times, though -- they won't let anyone into the river prior to that. Figure a minimum of 20 min. per lap to go around the wild river, not counting a detour to one of the mega-slides. We found the park to be a lot of fun and the staff very friendly.

Itinerary says 8-5

You can take a taxi back to port on your own, very easy to do.

Also the suggestion about booking comfort inn is a good one. We've done that before (they'll give you wristbands). As their guest you'll have access to Atlantis. Keep in mind, comfort inn is a maximum of 4 people per room. Not sure how many are in your group, but it can save you a lot.

Be careful if you book the Comfort Inn, there is a lot of extra fees on top of the room price. We found it was cheaper to do a ship excursion than book a room here with the added fees:

Energy surcharge: 15.95 per person per night.

Housekeeping gratuities: 5.00 per person per night

These are additional charges not included in nightly estimated total and must be paid directly at the hotel. Groups are for Five or more rooms and require a 2nt stay.

Persons 16 and older are charged as adults. 3rd/4th person charged 40.00 per night + tax and service charges.

We loved Atlantis. Our itin originally had 2 days in Nassau so we booked a room direct on Atlantis' site to save money vs the excursion. We enjoyed both the waterpark and the aquarium and if we went back to Nassau we would go again.

What time do they let you check in? Most hotels don't let you check in until the afternoon, right?
