DallasGuy75219 Posted July 9, 2014 #26 Share Posted July 9, 2014 Now let's see if you all think this will work. Wait till you have 2 match bets, and then 5 in black 5 on red, matched by carnival for 10 on each, payout of 1 to 1 so I'd walk away with 20 unless it hits 0 or 00. The payout would be $15, not $20, for hitting red or black. The house keeps the match play card that you win with and pays the only the winnings on it, not the $5 value of the match play card. The house keeps the match play card that you win with and pays the only the winnings on it, not the $5 value of the match play card. So if I understand this correctly, I could purchase 10 of my 15 drinks as the classic cocktails. I receive my $50 match play bonus and my girlfriend could do the same (albeit not drinking all of these, she'd be sick as a dog). We then place $50 bets on black and red along with our match plays, thus coming out with a $50 profit as long as 0 or 00 does not hit. On a 5-day cruise, I could get $250 back, essentially paying for one of the two packages while allowing an additional 5 drinks for each of us to choose from the extensive drink list. Cheers then becomes $250 (around $280 with tip) for the two of us, making halving our bill. Sounds like a good deal to me! Does this logic make sense? Let me know if I'm wrong-and somebody try this ASAP!

pbsteve Posted July 24, 2014 #29 Share Posted July 24, 2014 you are all destroying my system... it was perfect before you looked and found flaws lol. Either way, carnival paying half my cheers package is a win for me... especially when you have OBC for half of it to begin with

srjones1 Posted July 24, 2014 #31 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Are you sure?? That doesn't make sense or seem fair.. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Think about it this way... You put $5 of your money on red and a card that merely represents $5. Same thing on black. Then red hits. They take your $5 and the card from black. Gone. They pay you $5 on your $5 and $5 on their representation of $5 and take the card so you can't use it again. You came out of pocket $10 and walked away with $15 in real money. Now multiply that by 15 for each day of the cruise. I wonder how long they'll allow that to happen.
ctrg Posted July 24, 2014 #32 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Do that same thing except bet 5 on 1st 12, 5 on 2nd 12 and 5 on 3rd 12, and play match cards on all three bets :):) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Actually, I should have said multiply that by 7.5 for each day because you need two coupons per spin. It's late, my math is foggy. Still knocks a dent in the costs

Let me know if I'm wrong-and somebody try this ASAP! 49.95 x 1.15% gratuity 57.44 x 2 (both of you must purchase Cheers program) 114.88 - 50.00 winnings from match play on 20 drinks playing black AND red each spin (10 wins x $5) 64.88 cost per day for 2 Cheers programs after winnings x 5 days 324.40 total for 5 day cruise Which allows 10 drinks per person of Classic Cocktails and your additional 5 drinks each to be something other than Classic Cocktails. Assuming you don't actually drink any of the Classic Cocktails and only order them in order to get the match play, your 5 drinks per person will cost 6.49 per drink (324.40/50). If you do actually drink all 15 drinks per person per day, the drinks will cost 2.16 per drink. More than likely you will be drinking somewhere in between the 5 and the 15. Same scenario, but ordering all 15 drinks as Classic Cocktails/match play would make the cost per day 39.88 x 5 days = 199.40 This is all assuming you get all even odds wins, which the odds aren't exactly even. If you play black and red on roulette, it could still land on 0 or 00. Or ... after you have had 15 drinks(!!), you make mistakes and accidentally bet red but forget to place the black bet. Or even worse, you pass out and don't even make it to the casino then you go home with a bunch of match play cards and a hangover, hahaha. :p

Trying to do the calculations in my head and in my head I am getting this.. You bet 5 and 5 on black and red and u just break even .. If red comes out; they pay you ten bucks on your wager on red , but you lose 5 on the black and five bucks on ur match play on red.. Resulting in a ten dollars in your pocket but u had to bet ten in the first place Sent from my iPhone using Forums Edited July 24, 2014 by ctrg

However, you are getting $5 back of your money, plus the $5 winnings on that money, PLUS the $5 that Carnival is matching, thus making your total $15. ctrg Posted July 24, 2014 #39 Share Posted July 24, 2014 You get 15 but losing 5 on black results in 10 dollars.. This is very confusing. I am going to try it once and see what happens I understand after betting 5 on red, you get 5 from the original bet, 5 on the payout from ur bet and 5 from match play pay out, but lose 5 from the bet on black.. That's how I see it Sent from my iPhone using Forums

You will also win $5 from that bet, making your total $10. You also get ONLY $5 from the match play because they are essentially giving you $5 in free PROFIT if you win. That equals $15 total, $10 profit from the "Black" bet that won. You then subtract $5 from the lost bet on Red, thus making your grand total $10 with a $5 profit. Basically you are betting $10 for the *almost guaranteed* chance of getting $15 back, making a $5 profit every time you win.

ctrg Posted July 24, 2014 #43 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Ok now I got it.. I just thought about it this way(because every other way is confusing for me).. You bet 5 on red(and 5 on black), red comes out.. For the red win u get 20 bucks and they take away 5 from that match play resulting in 15 in ur pocket, .. So u put down ten and get fifteen . Now is it better to bet on 1st 12 , 2nd 12 and 3rd 12 with match plays all at the same time at 2:1 odds Sent from my iPhone using Forums

NewtoCruisewKids Posted July 24, 2014 #48 Share Posted July 24, 2014 The last time I used the match play coupons I could only play one at a time. Unless you have your SO with you to make the second bet. That was last April on the Splendor. Otherwise I will be trying this in August! Good luck!
